Major Gas Turbine OEM and
Leading US Energy Company
Approve C.C.JENSEN, Inc.
for Varnish Removal
Varnish in lube oil of gas turbines can greatly affect availability and reliability. As the industry grapples with this problem, C.C.JENSEN, Inc. has been there to lend assistance with a simple and low-cost solution. C.C.JENSEN, Inc. filters feature a cellulose based filter media that effectively removes varnish by adsorption.
One of the largest electric power companies in the United States tried C.C.JENSEN, Inc. and now recommends us based upon validation testing. The company has a total generating capacity of 37,000 megawatts. They own and maintain a sizeable fleet of gas turbines. In 2006 the company purchased an HDU 27/108 MZ-E1MPT to mitigate and remove varnish contamination in their GE 7EA gas turbines. The filter was installed at a facility in Illinois. After comparing C.C.JENSEN, Inc. with electrostatic filter systems, we were selected because of lower price and greater reliability.
Are they a satisfied customer?
The results speak for themselves:

| |
|
Oil Sample Before CJC Filtration | | Oil Sample After CJC Filtration |
The customer stated that “the filter is not only effective, but the unit is well designed, compact, easy to use, and high quality.?
These results have far reaching implications. GE Energy, a major manufacturer of gas turbines, has released a “Lube Oil Conditioner Specification? designed to guide end users in the evaluation and purchase of a varnish removal filter system for gas turbines. In section 3.3 under “Performance? it states that:
“Lube Oil Conditioner shall reduce the concentration of particles (0.2 – 2 micron) by a factor of at least 50% in less than 6 months.?
In this case, the number of sub-micron particles before filtration was >20,000,000 on September 2006. Within six months the number was reduced to a low of 1,275 particles.
Therefore, by GE standards, C.C.JENSEN, Inc. passed with flying colors. The filter removed >99.9% of particles. The Ultra Centrifuge Value, Color Value and associated pictures provide anecdotal evidence that serves to validate and confirm the results beyond a shadow of a doubt. The specification also states that a “Lube Oil Conditioner? shall achieve this level of performance in a “one-time qualification test?. Hence, C.C.JENSEN, Inc. qualifies as a vendor and can supply filter systems to GE Gas Turbines.
