Drilling Rigs in mines are operating under extremely rough environmental conditions leading to very contaminated oil systems. Recommended ISO level is 16/14, if the drilling equipment is to work reliably and effectively.
Seal failures in the cooling system cause water contamination, particle contaminations from dust, and oil degradation, all resulting in wear on cylinders and components as well as consequent frequent service and replacement of components. This is particularly relevant for sensitive components, such as valves (sticking because of oil degradation), bearings, and piston pumps. Most importantly, the effect of contaminated oil is down-time and lost production.
Effective Offline Depth Filtration using e.g. CJC™ HD HDU 15/25 Heavy Duty Filter, CJC™ Fine Filters and CJC™ Filter Separators installed primarily on the hydraulic systems, dramatically increases the reliability and lifetime of system components.
Due to the depth filtration and the capability of removing the high amount of water and dirt from the oil, it is possible to considerably reduce oil changes and maintenance costs and achieve an extremely fast pay-back time.
