Danmarks Indsamlingen 2012

Danish Fundraising Campaign 2012

More than 10 million people in sub-Saharan Africa flee or are forced away from their homes. Almost half of these refugees are children.

Children fleeing is the most vulnerable group of all. Children without a home usually live in extreme poverty. They do not go to school and die from simple diseases. The children’s chances of eventually coping and building up a future for themselves and their country are infinitely small, as long as they are fleeing.

Refugees and internally displaced people is a major and growing problem in Africa. Recently, drought in the Horn of Africa has driven hundreds of thousands of people to flee. But also war, poverty, natural disasters and climate changes are forcing people away from their homes. In this desperate situation where people are left without home and security, the children are always the most vulnerable of all.

Through ‘Danmarks Indsamlingen 2012’, the 12 biggest humanitarian organisations in Denmark, in collaboration with DR (Denmark’s National Television Channel), collect donations for projects aiming at preventing children from fleeing, supporting those children who are already fleeing and especially helping children get back on their feet again  when they, along with their families, are to create a new future.

C.C.JENSEN has donated DKK 15,000 (EUR 2,000)
