Stern Tubes

Effective removal of water from stern tube oil can dramatically increase equipment reliability and life-time, and optimize the operation of the work ship.

Contamination in stern tube oil is caused by high and constant water ingress. It can typically be spotted in oil samples where the oil is translucent / milky. The water that is present in the system will implode under pressure and lead to micro-pitting of surfaces in components. If the water is not effectively removed, the components will deteriorate and the volume of particles in the oil will increase. The consequence can be reduction of components lifetime, costly repairs or even more expensive off-hire periods.

CJC™ Desorber D10 is the effective way to maintain the oil in stern tubes and keep the oil dry where water ingress is high and constant.
