history

Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned company managed in third generation and located in Hamburg. In 1951, Erik Karberg acquired a license from his friend, the Danish inventor Carl Christian Jensen for manufacturing (and sales in Central Europe) of the now world-known CJC® Fine Filters and CJC® Filter Inserts.

In the beginning CJC® Fine Filters were exclusively sold into the marine sector. In a short time they were so successful that the filter technology was developed continuously and sales were expanded into the industry sector already in the 60ies. Today, CJC® Fine Filter Systems are ideal for a wide range of applications in the marine, offshore, industry and power sector as well as in quarries and mining.

Due to the steady growth of Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG, a number of relocations within Hamburg were necessary. With our own production and internal testing and analysis facilities, Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG is now located in Marlowring in the west of Hamburg.

As a result of the big success on the Italian market, our subsidiary Karberg & Hennemann srl was founded in Modena, Italy in 2000.

Since 2006, Mr. Sven Hogrefe is in third generation the managing shareholder of Karberg & Hennemann GmbH & Co. KG. As per 01.01.2007, 50% of the company was transferred to C.C.JENSEN A/S, which led to an intensification of the already close co-operation.

CJC® Fine Filter Technology is world-wide available through a global network of sales offices, subsidiaries, joint-ventures and distributors as well as a network of regional representatives.

Nowadays, more than 200 employees support customers with profound Know-How and help as experts to find solutions for problems with very specific oil contaminations respectively conditions.
